The House of Burgesses was the first legislature in the New World. It was built in the colonial capital of Williamsburg.

This was the meeting room of the upper chamber of the legislature. I think it was the House of Lords but I don't recall now.

This was the meeting room of the Burgesses or the lower house of the legislature, and where the first stirrings for independence began.

This was the governor's palace and in which several British governors and two American governors lived. Jefferson eventually moved the capital to Richmond.
